The industrial processes that form the basis of Kuwait's economy, together with a severe traffic problem that continues to aggravate the situation, means that the problem of air pollution generated from an array of harmful contaminants will logically some become a pressing crisis in this country. So goes a article in the 10-11 November Daily Star newspaper.
An interesting point in the article is about how Kuwaiti's use their cars as a social vehicle for meeting each other since they don't have clubs or other places for people to meet, especially for the young. I hope someone will start up some good nightclubs for these kids so they can stop dying on the Kuwait roads, which they do in great numbers. Also they kill and injure innocent drivers. Some very extreme car crashes this week on the 30 and 40 between 3rd and 8th ring roads. They have signs that say speed kills but they drive too fast to read them!

It is grim isn't it - not only from cars, but from factories and power stations. See my post here http://www.stillkuwaiting.com/2006/11/28/its-a-beautiful-day/
I just wrote about the air pollution this morning, found you via google search.
I think in the city it's the car smoke that's worst and out here at Fahaheel and such it's the Refineries.
Pretty nasty :(
And Bars?
You already have enough drunk drivers now, I don't know what would happen if you have alcohol legally and Bars.
But yes, someone should give these kids something useful to do :S
